Nokia's New Basic Phone
Phone manufacturer Nokia created the Nokia 2730 Classic as an entry into the small mobile phones category. It features good communications technology and can handle basic phone functions like a charm. It also has added features that enable it to be used a camera, for accessing GPRS websites and also as a media playback device that is compatible with a lot of good music formats. Finally, the excellent battery life ensures that users can fully enjoy the mobile phone without worry about the battery charge. The simplistic yet stylish design of the phone case is pretty good and buyers also get a choice of colors as well.
Worth a Second Look
Taking cues from other good phones, the features on the Nokia 2730 Classic are easily accessible and easy to use. Thanks to the excellent user interface used by Nokia and the availability of help options on the phone itself. Users who have not yet used a Nokia model would have little to no problem adjusting to the control scheme for the 2730 Classic. Even understanding the various settings is easy. Applications can be easily executed and switched to during normal mobile phone functions.
Music playback is easy thanks to the new media player provided by Nokia. It easily loads and plays different music and video file formats with little to no load times or skipping. This is a testament to the decent hardware power built into the phone itself. The camera is 2 mega pixels and can take good images and 15 frames per second video that are perfect for making or taking short video clips for later viewing. Finally, GPRS browsing is easy thanks to the fully functional web browser pre installed in the phone.
The True Value
Despite being a good phone for its class, there are definitely users who simply want more from their phones and investment. Particularly users who prefer to have a large touch screen. One other factor is that this Mobile Phone does not run Windows Mobile, which means that there are no word or spreadsheet processing software available on the phone. The 2730 cannot go head to head with a pocket PC. It does however provide a decent alternative for people who do not wish to spend too much for a phone but would appreciate really good features. In the end, the Nokia 2730 survives in the era of high end phones thanks to its dedicated purpose of being the mobile phone for every man.
